SureThin® is an efficient, thorough cervical smear technique. The easy application results in diagnostically conclusive findings. In addition to the valuable consumables of the SureThin® product line, the SureThin® Processor completes the technical part of the application.
The sample vial is placed in the chamber of the SureThin® Processor, along with a filter and microscope slide. A gentle dispersion step thoroughly mixes the cell sample and breaks up blood, mucus and non-diagnostic debris. The cells are then collected on a filter specifically designed to collect diagnostic cells. A thin layer of cells is then transferred onto a glass slide and automatically deposited into a fixative solution.
During the process, every current step is displayed on the device‘s screen. The slideable glass front of the SureThin® Processor gives full control and insight into the application to the user.

The Her2/Neu (c-erbB-2) proto-oncogene is a transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase that is clinically indicated in a number of carcinomas. Overexpression of the c-erbB-2 protein has been associated with ductal breast cancer, as well as pulmonary and gastric adenocarcinomas. A correlation between Her2 and p53 has also been documented, as overexpression of both proteins has been associated with early invasion and metastasis in bladder cancer.
HPV16 is one of over 120 different subtypes of human papillomavirus (HPV) that have been identified, with approximately 40 of these subtypes infecting the epithelial lining of the anogenital tract, mouth, and throat. In the majority of cases, infection with HPV is asymptomatic and endogenously resolved, without the need for medical intervention. However, infection with any of 14 “high-risk” types, including HPV16, introduces the risk for developing cervical cancer. Anti-HPV16 can be used as a tool to screen for infection with HPV16, and monitor if the infection carries a risk of becoming cancerous.

Fully automated tissue processor
The MTM II fast tissue processor offers a cost-efficient and user friendly alternative for fast biopsies processing and overnight batch tissue processing needs of every histology laboratory. The instrument can either be used for fully automated fast biopsy processing or high volume overnight batches of up to 300 samples.
The innovative and patented enhanced heat exchanger (EHE) allows fastest non-microwave tissue processing today available. Reagents are homogeneously and gently heated thereby assuring maximum sample safety.
The system can be operated with traditional reagents or with most of the xylene and ethyl alcohol substitutes today available on the market. An user friendly reagent management system and an optimized cleaning cycle routine are the basis for higher cost efficiency and higher turn-over.
